“Porcelain veneers are usually part of a smile makeover, where our team can create a beautiful smile with a combination of veneers and facial enhancement.”

— Dr Meng Quah-Shepherd

Porcelain veneers can provide an ultimate smile makeover, by concealing a number of common embarrassing issues.

If you suffer from gaps in your smile, stained or dull teeth, misshapen, chipped or worn teeth, porcelain veneers may be right for you. Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain shells that are placed directly on top of your teeth which means that any existing cracks, discolouration or gaps can be hidden simply by covering them up. For this reason, many patients find that porcelain veneers are a quick and easy way to correct imperfections and stop feeling embarrassed about their smile.

We aim for minimal waiting time with our in-house laboratory

At Boutique Dental Care, we have our own in-house laboratory. Our technicians can create custom-made veneers, crowns and bridges to perfectly suit your smile in both colour, shape and general appearance. We use ceramic materials which create a natural tooth-like appearance due to their slight transparency. Porcelain or ceramic veneers will generally look better than opaque material, which should only be used towards the back of the mouth, out of the ‘smile zone’.

Advantages and benefits of dental veneers

There are many benefits and advantages to having porcelain veneers applied to your front teeth.

– A healthy, natural look is achieved with little to no discomfort

– Veneers are strong, durable and natural in colour

– Long lasting with proper maintenance

– Resistant to staining

Composite Veneers Before and After Case Study

The patient was unhappy with the size of her laterals the and spaces between front teeth. She did not want to change the colour of her teeth and decided to have composite resin veneers rather than porcelain, mainly due to having a limited budget because of other wedding expenses.  Resin veneers can also be done in one appointment.  The patient was very happy with the outcome.

The Procedure

During your first appointment with us we will consult with you about the goals you have for your smile, as well as the cost of the procedure. Once we have provided you with a quote we will give you the option to either have a mould of your teeth taken on that day, or you can come back to our clinic at a time that’s convenient for you. After a mould has been taken our laboratory will begin creating custom veneers based on the impressions taken of your smile. Approximately 1-2 weeks later your veneers will be ready to be fitted.

Before we fit your veneers we will need to gently file some of the tooth surface away so your new smile does not look too bulky. Most patients find this relatively comfortable, and we will provide you with the required numbing medication before we begin. After this a special bonding agent and blue light will be used to bond your veneers to your teeth. This will ensure your veneers last for as long as possible, which in some cases can be up to ten years if proper care is taken.

Taking care of your dental veneers

Taking care of your new porcelain veneers is actually very simple, just clean them as you would your natural teeth by brushing and flossing daily.

Go the extra mile during your smile makeover

Many of our patients also receive facial enhancement as part of their smile makeover to prevent the deepening of wrinkles. Fillers can also plump your lips, for natural-looking volume to frame your new smile.
