Children's dental health in Chatswood

We’re Here for your Dental Health!

Here at Boutique Dental Care we are getting involved to show our commitment to our valued patients and community. Prevention is better than a cure! Have you had your 6 month preventative care appointment?

Did you know that enamel is the hardest substance in the body yet tooth decay is the most common preventable disease in the world?

Let us help you and your families achieve and maintain a healthy mouth and a beautiful bright smile. In celebration of the recent Dental Health Week we have begun a new programme of visiting local childcare centres, helping children to understand the importance of looking after their teeth.

Your health is the best investment you could make

Foods for Healthy Teeth!

Are you aware of how significant a healthy diet is toward preventing cavities?

Come and chat to us about not only your diet but what you can do to ensure your kids maintain a healthy diet that will keep their teeth healthy and strong.

A Healthy Outside Starts With A Healthy Inside

woman biting red appleAcid is produced when sugars (mainly sucrose) in foods or drinks react with bacteria present in the dental biofilm (plaque) on the tooth surface. The acid produced leads to a loss of calcium and phosphate from the enamel; this process is called demineralisation.

Limit processed foods and opt for whole foods such as apples which are full of fibre and contain unrefined sugars that your body must work to breakdown. They are also nice and crunchy so let’s give those muscles of mastication a workout!

As an added bonus the fibre in fruit, found mainly in its skin suppresses your appetite to prevent overeating and weight gain.

Plaque Control

Keep it basic! A little effort goes a long way

Floss (1x per day), Brushing (morning + night for 2minutes) and see your dental health practitioner only twice a year!

Eat for fuel and function as well as taste. And brush and floss with purpose!

Tooth fairy visit in Chatswood
Tooth fairy and mascot from Boutique Dental Care
We want to get involved and help kids start on the right track toward a life long healthy and positive approach to dental health. Our dental hygienist (tooth fairy) and dental assistants will be visiting local childcare centres to educate both children and staff on healthy diets and hygiene practices.

We will be taking Big Red our clinic mascot (a toy dog) who has big shiny white teeth to aid brushing demonstrations. We will be discussing sometimes and always foods with children in hopes of creating good lifelong habits.

As a way of getting the children excited about practicing good oral hygiene habits we will be handing out gift bags and information for parents.

Its never too early to get involved, so bring your kids in with you next time you visit us!
